Agra Cafe

Our first outing took us to Agra Cafe, 4325 W. Sunset Blvd. in Silver Lake (90029), on the outskirts of Sunset Junction. This small restaurant tucked away in a strip mall has the reputation of serving some of the best Indian cuisine in LA. It did not disappoint. We started by sharing the appetizer, Paneer Pakora, coupled with chutney. We each ordered different curries from the lunch specials menu at $7.95, each. That included two lamb dishes and the cafe's specialty, Chicken Tikka Massala each coming with two vegetables, rice and naan. We were quite pleased with our selections. We did all agreed, however, that we would have preferred the chutney at Trader Joe's.
For dessert, we headed to the heart of Sunset Junction to Pazzo Gelato, 3827 Sunset Blvd. (90026) to be ever so happy tasting three scoops of the most delicious gelato outside of Rome. The flavors change, but our choices were coconut, rum raisin and espresso. Oh, one of the epicures got chocolate.

Sunset Junction Lunch Mission

Since there are so many fantastically delicious and diverse restaurants in Sunset Junction (and adjacent) in the Silver Lake district of Los Angeles, my two foodie buddies, Michael & Phil, and I have decided to check out as many of the restaurants along Sunset Boulevard as we possibly can during our lunch hour in the coming year. The only criterion is to make sure the tab's under $10 per person. Of course, we'll also seek out post-lunch sweets, but those won't be included in the lunch bill.
We figured we'd go through the alphabet, starting with the A's, or at least see how that goes. We're flexible. Also, we are traveling incognito, so these may or may not be our real names. For simplicity purposes, we're going by the name, The Three Epicures (TTEs), or at least for the time being. So, here we go. Bon Appetito!
